I Love Avocados! Do You?

I love Avocados, I love everything about them. They're delicious, healthy and you can add them to almost anything to help liven up the flavor of your meal. Avocados were my son's first food. When he was 6 months old, I smashed up a slice of avocado and fed it to him, it was his first taste of food and he's loved them ever since.


1 ounce of a Hass avocado has 50 calories, 3 grams of monounsaturated fat, 0 cholesterol and sodium, and 1 gram of dietary fiber and they provide nearly 20 essential vitamins and minerals: potassium, folic acid and other B-vitamins, as well as vitamins E and K and they also contain phytonutrients, believed to help prevent many chronic diseases. 

Here are two great recipes that you can pair up together for a quick and easy meal with plenty of healthy nutrients. 

Tomato and Avocado salad
 Very simple, low calorie side salad to pair up with any meal.


Ingredients:
  • 1/2 Tomato
  • 1/2 Avocado
  • Spring mix salad
  • Balsamic Vinaigrette 
  • Pepper

Bacon Avocado Grill Cheese
Bacon? Avocados? Grill cheese? Yes Please! Vamp up your plain and boring grilled cheese sandwich with some bacon and avocados. 



Ingredients:
  • Bread
  • Bacon
  • Avocado
  • 3 Slices of cheese - White American, Provolone and Cheddar
