My most recent parenting challenge is dealing with the "Terrible Two's" with Maddox who turned two in June. He's can be a handful some days and I'm learning day by day on how to handle his mood swings because I know this is all a learning experience for the both of us. I don't remember my oldest being such a handful at this age. I always heard about the "terrible two's" but it didn't seem that terrible with our daughter but with Maddox, it's like living with a baby terrorist, leaving destruction and tears (from all of us) in his path. Unfortunately, I'm not the only one dealing with his "terrible two's" phase. His sister seems to be the victim of most of his moody moments. He doesn't want to share with her or he thinks it's funny to jump all over her, pull her hair and all the other things that little brother's do.
I've recently learned two and implemented to useful things; Redirection and time-out. When his upset or fighting with his sister over something, I try to redirect his focus on something that makes him happy like playing with his cars. Seems to work very well with him and he quickly forgets what he was so upset about. The second thing; time-out, works so well with him and it surprises me because it did not work at all with our oldest. When he does something he knows is bad, we put him in time-out and he'll go without a fight, serve his time and return's with smiles and is ready to play.
With everything going on in Maddox's day to day activities, I'm just glad Huggies Snug and Dry diapers can keep up with him, just one less thing to worry about. Huggies new SureFit design provides up to 12 hours of leakage protection, has a unique flexible waistband for all-around fit, and more conforming gap-free fit.
Huggies’ parenting webisodes feature Zuleyka Rivera, Huggies spokesperson, and her son Sebastian. Webisodes will be uploaded monthly and can be viewed on the Huggies Latino Facebook page.
What's your current parenting challenge? Have you recenlty overcome a parenting challenge? Any advice for the "Terrible Two's" phase?
