Parents around the world spend 10 hours a month on average bathing their children! Bath time is a perfect opportunity to stimulate your child’s senses like touching, smelling, seeing, and hearing. Bath time can also be a great time for bonding with your children and to help stimulate their creativity. The sensory effects of bath time stay with them long after bath time is over. Many parents say that bath time is a special activity they enjoy with their child.
Research shows that infants who experienced routine touch and massage (a big part of the after-bath routine) were 50% more likely to make eye contact and 3 times more likely to have an overall positive expression.
Playing with bubbles helps babies develop hand-eye coordination and discover objects exist even when they can’t be seen. A bubble bath can create a playful time to teach your little one to be creative with their imagination. Building sculptures with bubbles, cleaning their toys and finding hidden toys under the layer of bubbles can be fun for your child and you.
Bathing with your babies can also be a great bonding experience with your baby. It's a perfect time for the two of you to relax and comfort each other. Bathing with my little one's was something I did often with they were just babies, and with a toddler and newborn, bathing together was sometimes the only way I'd get to shower that day.
